From Thursday, 24 of July to Friday, 31 of October 2025, cyclists can securely park their bicycles at the bike parkade for just €5 per month. This is possible after one-time registration in the shop. The offer is being introduced to allow customers to become familiar with the new, purely digital ticket system.
A day pass for the bicycle station will also be available again soon.
This had to be temporarily suspended due to a significant increase in theft, vandalism and misuse of the station in recent past.
The reintroduction of the day pass in the station’s new digital ticket system, which also requires one-time registration to reduce the risk of misuse, has been delayed due to technical difficulties.
The launch of a reduced monthly tariff is intended not only to offer an attractive deal to existing former users of day tickets and monthly tickets, but also to encourage new customers who have not yet used the parkade to try the service.
The bike parkade is located on a former underground parking deck and offers over 600 parking spaces. The parkade has been open for you since 2018 and was awarded the German Bicycle Prize 2020 in the category “Infrastructure”.
Entry and exit is via the street Hinterm Hauptbahnhof or the station forecourt south. Once you have parked your bike, you can leave the parkade via one of the two turnstiles. You can then either go directly to the main station’s pedestrian passageway or return to the south station forecourt.
You will need an eTicket to use the parkade. These are available from the shop at parken-in-karlsruhe.de/shop.
In addition to numerous regular bicycle stands and ADFC-certified double-deck parkers, the parkade also offers generous parking facilities for cargo bicycles as well as bicycles with attached trailers.
The parkade offers a pump and tool station for minor repairs and provides a service area with a sink, bench and lockers.
Eighteen lockers (each measuring 395 x 460 x 400 mm (W x D x H)) are provided in the service area. These can be booked via www.bikeandridebox.de and have charging facilities for e-bike batteries (230 V socket, maximum 600 W).
